Walls and columns used to chop up this space, cutting off the kitchen from adjacent spaces. The new design for this house in Annapolis opened things up with a large island in the center. The custom metal range hood and marble backsplash above the Wolf cooktop create a striking focal point. From this strong central axis extend two adjacent spaces: the office nook and bar area. Both are furnished with the same cabinetry as the kitchen to unify the look of this part of the house.
